Professor Christopher Uff is a Consultant Neurosurgeon specializing in the treatment of acute brain pathology. His NHS practice is at the Royal London Hospital Major Trauma Centre in East London where he is Head of Neurotrauma and Neurosurgical Academia. He is an Honorary Professor in Neuroscience and Trauma at the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London.
He was Clinical Lead for Neurosurgery from 2017 - 2021, during which the Royal London Hospital was rated best in the UK across all domains in the GMC national training survey.

Surgical Training
Originally from London he attended pre-clinical medical school in St Andrews where he was awarded a BSc with Honours in developmental neurobiology, and clinical school in Manchester.
He trained in general surgery in East Angia and in neurosurgery in London. He remains the most junior trainee to pass the FRCS (Neurosurgery) consultant exam.
PhD
He studied for a PhD in Physics and Neurosurgery at the Institute of Cancer Research (University of London) investigating the mechanical properties of the interface between normal brain and tumours which was awarded in 2012. He has received prizes from the British Neuro-Oncology Society and the Society of British Neurological Surgeons.
Neurovascular Surgery
He completed the neuro-vascular fellowship at Kings College Hospital in 2014 and was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at The Royal London Hospital later in 2014.

Other Interests
Other interests include IronMan Triathlon, Marathon running and violin making.
